Charter gets the attention because the prompts are glamorous: "best private jet company", "how much to fly to Aspen". The B2B side of the ramp asks duller and more answerable questions. A dispatcher sending a Global 7500 into an unfamiliar airport wants hours, fuel, hangar door dimensions, customs and a crew car. A director of maintenance with a Challenger 604 due a heavy check wants Part 145 ratings, type experience, lead time and a hangar in the Southeast. These questions have correct answers, and the engines will give one — from whatever page they can find.
The buyer is already there
Forrester's Buyers' Journey survey, published January 2026, found 94% of business buyers used AI in their purchase process, up from 89% the year before; 61% used private, company-provided tools, and business buyers were twice as likely as consumers to use ChatGPT and four times as likely to use Copilot. Twice as many buyers rated conversational AI as more meaningful than vendor websites or sales reps. 1 Gartner's survey of 646 B2B buyers (August–September 2025) found 67% preferring a rep-free experience and 45% having used AI during a recent purchase. 2
The corporate-tool detail matters for FBOs and MROs. A DOM inside a Fortune 500 flight department is likely asking Copilot, which uses Microsoft's own retrieval, and no consumer tracking tool can see that session. What you can control is whether the facts the model retrieves are right, current and on a page it can read.
Nobody is answering
We looked for anyone selling AI visibility to FBOs or MROs. First Page Sage's "Top Aerospace GEO Agencies of 2026" ranks eight agencies and contains no charter, FBO or MRO content at all. 3 Air Trending's 2026 list of aviation marketing agencies — Echo-Factory, ABCI, Off The Ground, Right Rudder, Bird Marketing and itself — includes none that offer AEO or GEO. 4 EpicEdits, the one aviation-exclusive AEO firm, lists FBOs and brokers among its industries, but its published index covers 13 private-aviation charter brands and 14 charter prompts and its content is charter-only. 56 Nobody is publishing FBO or MRO prompts or data, which means the retrieval layer for FBO and MRO prompts is thin, which means a single good page can be enough to be named.
Why these prompts are winnable
Seer Interactive's 2026 analysis of 8,500 keywords found that long-tail queries trigger AI Overviews roughly 30 times more often than head terms, that the sweet spot for cited pages was 1,000–2,000 words, and that FAQ and HowTo schema were irrelevant to being cited. 7 Reddit took 20.4% of first-citation slots — which for an FBO means the pilot-forum thread about your ramp fees from 2023 may be what the engine quotes about you today. 78
The lesson is not "write more". Ahrefs' 75,000-brand study found almost no relationship between content volume and AI visibility. 9 The lesson is "write the complete answer, once, and keep it current".
What the FBO page should contain
One page per location, in plain HTML, dated at the top: ICAO and IATA codes; hours and after-hours call-out; fuel brand, Jet A and 100LL availability, contract fuel programs accepted, SAF if genuinely available with the date last confirmed; ramp capacity and the largest type handled; hangar space with door height and width; GPU, lav, de-ice with lead times; US Customs and CIQ arrangements; crew facilities (lounge, snooze rooms, crew cars); ratings such as NATA Safety 1st and IS-BAH stage with dates; frequency and phone. Add Organization structured data with the location, and make sure the same facts appear identically in the directories crews use.
What the MRO page should contain
A capability matrix as a real HTML table: aircraft type × service (inspections by interval, heavy checks, avionics with named STCs, interiors, paint, AOG) × location. The Part 145 certificate number and ratings; EASA or other approvals with dates; OEM authorizations; typical lead times marked "typical" with the month they were last reviewed; hangar capacity by type. A short explainer per common question ("what a 96-month inspection on a Falcon 2000 involves") gives the engine something quotable and the DOM something useful. Do not publish customers; publish capabilities.
Then be where the engine looks
Directories and OEM service-center lists are the "best X" layer for this segment. 10 Trade press (AIN, Aviation Week BCA, NATA's Aviation Business Journal) and community threads are the mention layer. 98 Correct what is wrong in the open; add what is missing; date everything.
